FitOnPaper™ is part of a group of design and communication companies; the main company was established in February 2000 with the objective of developing graphic design solutions for micro, small and medium enterprises and for public and private institutions. The main objective has always been the creation of defined, economical, quick to implement design services which would specifically support new and small companies in the increasingly competitive markets.
Even when it didn’t have a name and was very far from the idea of creating a personalization tool, the FitOnPaper™ concept began to be formed in mid-2003 with the study and design of a series of editorial design templates with features that allow for easy customization (placement of text and photographs) by our designers, through the template selection by the customer (initially the most representative materials were brochures, catalogues, newsletters, fliers, leaflets, ads in newspapers and invitations for various purposes).
This experience became successful and the process was developed as the support of other companies increased at a time when word-of-mouth and email marketing was our best advertising. The low-cost design and speed were the main attributes valued by our clients and our partners in the companies are people with very little time available, such as the entrepreneur himself (in the case of new, small or micro enterprises) or the Marketing Director (more usual in medium enterprises and institutions).
Initially our sales team sent the design templates to the clients by mail, but in 2004 we began to make the designs available on the website, sending the links to interested customers. A preview of the design of the template allowed the clients to best fulfill the ideas for the elaboration of texts and selection of photographs, and after the clients had sent us the items, we guaranteed the sending of the model by mail within 24 hours maximum (up to 8 pages in the case of brochures, catalogues, newsletters).
In early 2006 comes the idea of providing an online tool where clients could customize (after choosing the design) their design project without the help of our team of designers, and the service can thus be even more economical and fast; the client himself can put the texts and photographs at any time of the day. Thus, the FitOnPaper™ concept arose with the ambitious goal of expanding to the world our know-how and our vision of design for printing.
After a period of development of ideas, in the beginning of 2007, the business plan, the software and FitOnPaper™ website design began to be developed. The new client trends and new Web 2.0 paradigm were in accordance with the essence of the FitOnPaper™ project which increasingly included very objective advantages:
